Reminders For Instructors

  • The standard classroom computer is there for them to use, and if they want to use Teams/Zoom for online students, it is recommended that they use the classroom computer. The classroom microphones and cameras are NOT available if they use their laptop.
  • All classrooms are equipped with VGA and HDMI video inputs for the instructor’s convenience, if they wish to use their own laptop (or other device). IT does NOT provide adapters/dongles for laptops/tablets/phones to connect to the system. Any adapters (if needed) must be provided by the instructor, and the compatibility of the adapters is the responsibility of the instructor. We cannot guarantee that any projector will work with any specific adapter or device. Due to differences in resolution, refresh rates, and other variables, we have seen several instances where a particular device works on one projector, yet does not work on another projector. Although IT will try to help instructors to get their devices working with the projector, there are some instances where this just isn’t possible.
  • It is always a good idea to get into the classroom well before your class begins to test anything “different” that you might want to use, to ensure that classroom time is not interrupted by technical issues.
  • Please help us take care of the classroom equipment by NOT moving the computer carts. Moving the cart will eventually cause damage to the various cables that run to the cart.
  • Please do not leave the microphone that is on the stand pointing DOWN at the floor. Gravity is relentless, and eventually that microphone will fall out!
  • In any room that has a wireless lavalier microphone, please return the rechargeable battery to the receiver/charger at the end of the class to ensure it is fully charged for the next person who needs to use it.
  • Do not move microphones, stands, cables, etc. from one classroom to another.
  • DO NOT remove music stands from the Chapel. They were purchased for the use of the music department for music students in the Chapel.
  • If an instructor is unsure of how to use the classroom equipment, please contact IT for assistance or a quick lesson in how everything works. We would be happy to meet you in the classroom and go over everything you need.
  • If you notice that something isn’t working, or something is broken in a classroom, please inform IT of the issue. Although we do try to check the rooms on a regular basis, we can’t fix something if we don’t know it’s broken!
