Writing and Tutoring Services is now Learning Services. This updated name reflects our broader support for student success. This and other relevant webpages will be refreshed over the next few months to reflect the change. We look forward to continue working with you!

Who We Are

Learning Services exists to assist Tyndale students of every discipline with their academic needs. Our skilled and approachable student Consultants help with assignments, study skills, and in-class learning through two kinds of support: Writing Consultation and Academic Tutoring.

Writing Services

Tyndale’s Writing Services are free for all registered Tyndale students, regardless of degree, skill level, or area of study. We can help you at any stage of the paper writing process, including brainstorming, researching, outlining, thesis crafting, drafting, editing and revising, citations, and paper formatting. Students are eligible for up to one hour of writing support each week, schedule permitting.

Writing Consultation

Writing Consultations are one-on-one appointments where our Consultants work with you to provide feedback and help you become a better writer. This is our main support method, offered online (via Microsoft Teams video calls) and on campus.

Written Feedback

In Written Feedback sessions, students submit a Microsoft Word document and receive feedback via comments. These appointments are by approval only and are reserved for students who cannot participate in one-on-one consultations.

Tutoring Services

Tyndale's Tutoring Services are free for all Undergraduate (excluding BEd) students and SEM students in language classes. Students are eligible for up to one hour of tutoring support each week, schedule permitting.

Academic Tutoring

Knowledgeable tutors are available to assist undergraduate students (excluding BEd) with mastering course material and sharpening study skills. Review vocabulary, formulas, patterns, and other course content with one of our Consultants in one-on-one sessions.

Study Groups

The goal of study groups is to collaborate with a Consultant and your classmates to clarify difficult concepts, practice problems, and apply the skills you have learned in class. Study groups will resume in the Fall.

Book an In-Class Seminar

Learning Services is happy to partner with professors to prepare and present in-class seminars. If you wish to book a seminar, please provide at least three weeks' notice and an overview of your requirements.
