Ottawa Redemptive Business Studio: Building Beyond Profit
On June 19-20, 15 leaders from across industries joined CRE’s Redemptive Business Studio in Ottawa. It wasn’t just a conversation about business—it was an invitation to reimagine our work through a redemptive lens.
We’re grateful to Ray Pennings from Cardus for setting the tone with a powerful reminder: Business isn’t just private profit—it’s public witness. It’s one of the most visible ways Christians can restore trust, create flourishing, and reflect God’s heart in our cities.
Over two days, our director, Philip Yan and performance coach, Colt Charlebois, facilitated the Studio as we rolled up our sleeves, wrestled with the Redemptive Business Canvas™, shared stories, and faced the reality that building with a redemptive mindset requires risk, imagination, and community.
Here’s what participants told us:
- “I’ve been thinking way too small.”
- “This isn’t just for my business—it’s for building culture.”
- “I came with a business idea… but I’m leaving with a mission.”
Special thanks to Johann van der Merwe, One Way Ministries Workplace Network, for your partnership. We’re encouraged to see this community growing, leaders stepping up, and a shared mission taking shape.
