Biography

Dr. Mekhael is a Copt-Arab Egyptian scholar specializing in New Testament and Second Temple Judaism, with research focused on Luke-Acts and atonement theology. He earned his Ph.D. from McMaster University in 2024. Fady has taught Biblical Studies at McMaster University, Columbia International University, and the European School of Theology and Culture in Germany.

He currently serves with the Canadian Bible Society, overseeing international Bible translation projects. Previously, he worked as a Bible Translation Officer in Egypt and trained as a consultant with the United Bible Societies, helping translate Scripture into unreached dialects. He also led peacebuilding initiatives to reduce sectarian violence in the Middle East.

Dr. Mekhael contributed a chapter to The New Testament around the World (Kregel, 2025), edited the Arabic Study Bible, and is preparing his first book on atonement in Luke-Acts. He lives in Hamilton, ON, with his wife and son and will teach 1 & 2 Corinthians in Spring-Summer 2026.
