Biography

Dr. Wong is an ordained pastor and currently serves as an Associate Pastor of Cantonese Ministry at Calgary Chinese Baptist Church, Calgary, Alberta. He has served in pastoral ministry since 2005 in Toronto, Edmonton, Vancouver, and Calgary.

He earned his PhD (Educational Studies) from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His dissertation, entitled “’ A Mother Cooking a Meal for Her Children’: Exploring the Pastoral Identity of the Canadian Chinese Church Pastors,” is an examination of the identity formation of small to midsize Chinese church pastors and implications for theological education and pastoral formation. This exploration comes from his personal reflections and experience as a small church pastor.

Besides shepherding God’s flock, he is also an adjunct faculty member of ACTS Seminaries Mandarin-speaking program at Langley, BC and Carey Theological College at Vancouver, BC.
